Ken Onion’s very refined yet totally modern design results in an admirably functional pocket knife built for the modern gentlemen, not the modern gentleman’s grandfather.
Kershaw markets the Mini Mojito, an Onion design with a lot of class and all the modern features you really need. The sine curve edge of the high carbon stainless steel 2 3/8″ blade is perfect for fast cutting action. Not many urban knife users actually whittle these days, so the lack of a straight blade section isn’t a big deal.
The handle is stout, mostly high quality stainless steel but with enough G-10 composite inserted into the back to be comfortable and warm. Handle shape and a finger notch give this knife a secure and safe grip.
Easy one-handed opening for lefties as well as righties; safe and secure blade locking system; and equally easy unlock and closure make me wonder how long it will be before I give up my Buck folder. Easy answer: I won’t give it up, but I might buy something like the Mojito for those high class social events I never attend. Can’t take the country out of the boy.
Suppose, though, you aren’t comfortably wallowing in tradition; if you come into the world with open eyes, you’ll like this knife. Everything you need, and a pocket clip to boot.
