Ken Onion Blackout Knife Ken Onion has created some great knives for Kershaw. Witness the Kershaw Leek, the Blur and the Shun Ken Onion Chef’s Knife.

The Blackout was one of Ken’s first designs for Kershaw. It was also one of the first to feature the SpeedSafe opening mechanism. This is an automatic opening mechanism that assures safe operation.

The drop-point blade is Titanium-nitride coated 440A stainless steel, measures 3.25 inches and is available with a plain edge or a serrated edge. It is hardened to 55-57 on the Rockwell hardness scale.

The handle is black textured polyamide for a secure grip. The knife measures 7.625 inches when open. Included is a pocket clip.
