SOG puts these knives through some pretty rigorous testing before they get to you. Among many others, the tests include a gasoline torch resistance test, a noise and reflectivity test and a two-week salt immersion test.
So, if you plan to spend two weeks hiding in a salt-water bog filled with flaming gasoline, this may be the knife for you!
Otherwise, you’ll just be impressed with the AUS8 stainless steel blade hardened to RC 58 on the Rockwell C scale, the Titanium/Nickel (TiNi) coating and the deep finger grooves in the contoured Zytel handle.
The Seal Pup Elite is a slightly-upgraded version of the extremely popular Seal Pup knife. The blade is slightly thicker on the Elite and the steel is higher-grade.
It’s available with several options: the blade is either straight or half-serrated, the finish is either satin, black or TigerStripe.
