A lot of people really like this sharpener. Ninety percent of the customer reviewers on Amazon gave it a four star or five star rating. Note their comments, saying things like “It does an amazing job on sharpening knives” and “It’s amazing how quick and efficient this sharpener is!”
And it’s less than twenty bucks. So it must be a great deal, right? Well, yes and no.
If you have inexpensive knives and want an effortless way to resharpen them, this is a fine choice.
But if you value your knives and want them to live a long, healthy and sharp life, there are better options available.
Granted, those options are more expensive, but if you’ve already invested in a good set of knives, you’ll be happier in the long run.
Option #1 is to sharpen your knives yourself. Not ready to take on a new hobby? Option #2 is to have your knives professionally resharpened. Option #3 is to get a higher-end electric sharpener, like our favorite: the Chef’s Choice.
